Phone fits in snug and mounted on my tripod easily. Hard to fit phone in the adapter because of the strong spring to open it. My hands were not strong enough. Much easier to position phone into the adapter when it is attached to the tripod first.

A well built less expensive way to hold a cell phone for camera use or just as a cell phone holder!
I had been using another brand of holder for some time lapse videos with my old phone, but somewhere I lost it taking it from work to home and back again when it wasn't on any tripod. In looking for a new holder I came across this design which is actually much easier to use and it holds the 'camera' better, more securely than the old holder did, plus the always important costs less too! So I bought 2 of these, one for home and one for work. The mount came with the standard sized and threaded tripod camera gear mount and works on all my tripods from the small 4" model in the photos to the large stable, old heavy VHS video camera tripod I have. There is a softer rubber at the pull tab on the top and some foam along the base where the phone would be sitting, the foam is already smashing down where the phone sits but it still cushions the edge of the phone from the hard plastic. The spring loaded bar pulls out of the hard plastic frame. And with that standard screw mount it could also work with many of the GoPro mounts also for more photo or video options with your cell phone/camera. I primarily use my Note II for time lapse videos but have also used this for photos and videos taken with my Note 4 and the set up with this mount is very quick and very stable, depending on your mount or tripod. For cost and ease of use I can easily recommend these cell phone mounts for use as a camera mount or just a secure small footprint cell phone holder for almost any current model cell phone to the Note 4 size at least!
